Last Rites for Pioneer of Kendrick Area Sunday
Kendrick - Funeral services for Samuel Bowers, 86, were held in the Methodist church, Sunday, in charge of the Odd Fellows lodge, with the Rev. L. E. Taber, formerly of Kendrick, officiating. Mr. Bowers was born in Ontario, Canada, coming to the west in 1861. He is survived by five daughters, 28 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. While enroute to the funeral, Mrs. Woodman and Mrs. McLain, granddaughters of Mr. Bowers were in an automobile accident, when their car collided with another near Spokane.
