Nicholas Payne was the son of John Payne and Jane Coucheman.
He married first Agnes Crofton about 1564 at Frittenden, Kent County, England.
He married secondly Joyce ______ who was buried in Frittenden January 10, 1610. He married thirdly on July 9, 1611.
He married forth Mary Bezbeech who survived him. He died on 24 Jan 1617/18 at Frittenden, Kent, England; burial. Nicholas Payne of Frittenden left a very long will of which the following is an abstract:

the Tenth Daie of Maye 1617 I Nicholas Payne of frittenden in the Countye of Kent yeoman, being sicke of body … do make … this my last will and testament … I give … vnto Mary my wiffe during her naturall life … ffortie shillings a yere … alsoe … five pounds of good and lawful money … vnto Jane my Daughter the nowe wiffe of Thomas Younge ffortie shillings … also … unto her my said Daughter all such monye as Thomas younge her said husband oweth unto me … to Nicholas youge the sonne of the said Thomas younge twenty pounds … vnto John young one other of the sonnes of the said Thomas young the some of twentie pounds … vnto Anne youge and Jane younge Daughters of the said Thomas younge Tenne pounds a peece (all at 21 years of age) … vnto Tabitha Hubert my Daughter the nowe wiffe of Nathan Hubert … Ten pounds … mony … alsoe … vnto the said Tabitha … all such mony as the said Nathan Hubert her said husbond oweth vnto me.
