SALLY JANE LONG, age 77 of Harbor Beach, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Harbor Beach Community Hospital.
She was born on September 27, 1934 in Harbor Beach to the late Loren and Louise (Durkee) Hurren. Sally and Melvin Long were united in marriage on January 19, 1957. Sally worked as a cook at the Harbor House Apartments for many years.
Sally was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harbor Beach, and was part of the ladies group helping with many events. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Long of Harbor Beach, son Jerry Long and his wife Pauline of Ubly, daughter Susan Palach and her husband Dennis of Harbor Beach, two grandchildren: David and Gary Palach, and a sister Verda Brown of Florida.
Sally was preceded in death by her brothers: Alan, Robert and Archie Hurren, and sisters: Ruth Ignash, Veva Minton and Barb Tenbusch.
Funeral Services for Sally will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11 am in the United Methodist Church of Harbor Beach, with Rev. Donna Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 2-9pm in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Wednesday will be in the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am.
