Pfc. Jody Missildine of Plant City, Florida decided to join the Army after graduating from high school in order to travel and to attend college. He was a lifelong resident of Central Florida. Jody is survived by his father, Kelvin Missildine; mother, Darlene Moody; brothers, Jason and Taylor; sisters, Rachel and Rebecca; grandparents, Melvin and Shirley Missildine, Linda Moody; great-grandparents, Mervyn and Jewel Oyer. Jody died in Tal Afar, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy operations. He was a brave soldier who will be missed by his family and friends. He was 19.
