Cheryl Diane Groff Carpenter, 63, passed away November 22, 2014 at her home with her husband John at her side. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm and Rosary at 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, November 25, at Park Lawn Lathrop Chapel, Lathrop, MO. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 26, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Plattsburg, MO. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Cameron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to City Union Mission. Cheryl was born September 6, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. She was united in marriage to John P. Carpenter on August 25, 1988. She was a member of the Lathrop Sew-N- Sews Quilt Guild and St. Ann Catholic Church in Plattsburg. Cheryl was not blessed with any living children, but was doubly blessed when she married John, who had four children, all surviving. Cheryl leaves her husband, John; stepchildren, Jared Carpenter (Melissa), Amy Barry (John), Sarah Comeaux (Ed), and Samantha Carpenter; sister, Marilyn Francis (John); four grandchildren, Rian Carpenter, Hannah and Natalie Barry and Abigail Comeaux; niece, Andrea Burkholder (Don) and family; nephew, Bob Francis (Jennifer) and family; as well as many aunts, uncles and friends. Cheryl was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Michelle Tolin in May, 1970; parents, Eileen and Sandy Groff of Lathrop; and grandparents, Ruth and Jewell Walker of Lathrop.
