Myrtle D. Schneider, nee Dotzauer, 91, of Columbia, Ill., born Jan. 25, 1923, in Columbia, Ill., passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Columbia Rehab and Nursing Center in Columbia, Ill. Myrtle was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, Ill., where she had been a past choir director and organist for many years performing over a hundred weddings and funerals, and American Legion Aux., Post 581. She had retired as an office manager with Brass and Copper Sales Co., St. Louis, Mo. She had also worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Vogel, as well as Monroe National Bank and Luhr Brothers, Inc., Columbia, Ill. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan M. Schneider; parents, Arthur W. and Minnie, nee Busch, Dotzauer; brother, Howard Dotzauer; and sister, Hazel Roessler. Surviving are her husband, Maurice Schneider, whom she married on Sept. 2, 1945, in Columbia, Ill.; brother, Earl Dotzauer of Granite City, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Donald Dotzauer, Dale Dotzauer, Richard Roessler, Roger Roessler, Karen (Terry) Quiren, and Pat (Johnny) Jones; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Jim) Bangert; and dear friends, Herb (Leola) Schueler and Wendy (Bill) Norman.Memorial contribution suggestions: St. Paul Lutheran Church - Building Fund, 227 Goodhaven Columbia, Ill. 62236.
