Ruby Frances "Fannie" Cross age 86, of Oneida, Tennessee, was carried by the Angels into the waiting embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Cumberland Village Genesis Healthcare in LaFollette, Tennessee, a journey she had looked forward to with great anticipation for quite some time. Fannie, as she was known, was born on September 4, 1931 in Oneida, Tennessee, and was the daughter of George and Carrie Phillips of the Cherry Fork community. She attended West Oneida Baptist Church before her illness prevented her ability to travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Cross, Sr.; special companion, Joe Moore; son, George W. Cross; daughter, Marilyn Rose Cross; brother, Bobby Phillips; sisters, Mary Davis and Mabel Pannell; in-laws, Glenn Jeffers, Walter Cross, Paul Davis, Paul Hanover, Charles Davis, Charles Pannell, Arvis Acres, Carolyn Acres, Tola Cross, and Burdell Cross.
She is survived by her children, Bob Cross of South Dakota, Herb Cross and wife Debra of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Chuck Cross and wife Debbie Jean of the Paint Rock community; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Jeffers of the Cherry Fork community and June Hanover of Indiana; sister-in-law, Rose Phillips of the Cherry Fork community; many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M., until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon, Sunday, May 20, 2018, in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida, with Bro. Larry Ellis officiating. Music will be provided by Allen and Diane Carson. Burial will follow in the Cecil Cemetery in the Cherry Fork community.
Pallbearers will be, Seth Cross, Ethan Cross, Roddy Carr, Jeremy Cross and Tex McCann.
