A retired warehouse manager, he passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2009, at his residence in Port Allen.

He was 71 and a native of Rosedale.

Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, on Monday, Nov. 23, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Port Allen at Grace Point at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Brother Shawn Ostoj. Interment in Rosedale Cemetery.

Survived by his four sons, Jonas D'Amico, of Addis, Jerome D'Amico, and Kenneth "Rusty" Young Sr. and wife Adair Melancon, all of Port Allen, and Kevin "Randy" Young and wife Lee Ann Evans, of Midland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Lucille Matte, of Buford, Ga.; brother, Travis Young and wife Lee, of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla and Jared D'Amico, and Brittany, Kenneth Jr., Timothy and Brandon Young; and grandpuppies, Ginger and Charlie.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ola Kathleen "Sugar Pie" Young; parents, Willie O. and Wynemia Bartlett Young; sisters, Mercedes Young and Dora Graffia; and brothers, Silas, Harvey and Charles Young.

Pallbearers will be his sons. Honorary pallbearers are Walt Overland, Frank Cooley, Shane Graffia and Wayne Graffia.
