Rachel Marks was born on April 26, 1856 in Pennsylvania to Jacob Marks.

Rachel was married to Theodore Nicholas. Some of their children were, Carrie, Melville, Mabel, Mary, and Theodore.

Mrs. Theodore W. Nicholas and Mrs. J. F. Alderfer spent a few days of this week visiting the former's brother, M. Doyle Marks and family at Elmira, New York.

Rachel died on June 17, 1917 in an auto mobile accident. Her son Theodore, her brother-in-law Melville and sister-in-law Elizabeth Chestnut also died in that crash. Rachel was buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Renovo, PA on June 20th. The Clinton County Times, Lock Haven, PA., June 22, 1917, p. 1. At Elmira, N.Y., on the 23d inst., of consumption, Mrs. Emma Condon, nee Marks, aged about 27 years. The deceased was well known here, having been employed as telegrapher in the east end office, and later at Farrandsville. She has a sister Mrs. Theo, Nicholas of this place. The funeral was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas and family of this place, on Wednesday last.
