Laverne Holcomb Simmons, age 87, of Toccoa, GA, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Grandview Healthcare, Jasper, GA.
Born January 26, 1927 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Bart J. "George" Holcomb and Clarice Vandiver Holcomb.
She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and retired from Coats and Clark. She was formerly a resident of the Clary Care Center in Toccoa.
Family members include her granddaughter, Jennifer Goodwin and husband Matthew of Jasper, Ga.; great grandchildren, Davis Goodwin and Mattie Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Eugene Simmons; son Rodney Gene Simmons; daughter-in-law, Pamela Ann Duffell Simmons; and a sister, Sue Stewart.
