ARCHER CITY — Jane Wright Ham, age 65, passed away October 7th, 2013 after a courageous ten month battle with cancer. Jane was born February 11th, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Hooper and Dorothy Wright.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Jane was a spirited soul, a fighter, and ever the optimist. She enjoyed books, crossword puzzles, facebook, and cooking. She also enjoyed sitting by the fire on the back porch and visiting with family and friends. She loved the country and particularly visiting her daughter and son-in-law at the ranch. More than anything, Jane loved playing with her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who she considered the lights of her life. Jane and Danny Ham were married July 9, 1992, in Wichita Falls.

She loved her job and her dedication was noticed throughout the state of Texas. She served the County of Archer from 1981 to 1993 as the Deputy County and District Clerk, County and District Clerk from 1993 to 2002, and District Clerk from 2003 to 2010. During her tenure as Clerk, she served on numerous committees including the Legislative, Resolutions, District Clerk Handbook, and County Clerk Handbook committees. She served on the County and District Clerk Association's Board of Directors from 2008 to 2010 and was the Director in Charge for Area II from 2008 to 2009 and the Director for Area II from 2009 to 2010. She was a mentor for Clerks throughout the state of Texas. She was nominated for District Clerk of the year in 2010.

Jane is survived by her husband, Danny Ham; sister, Carol Lewis; brother, John Wright and wife, Cathy; daughter, Beth Bowles and husband, Mark; son, Casey Johle and wife, Krystal; daughter, Brandi Guerry and husband, Kyle; grandchildren, Brayden Bowles and wife, Codi, Baylee Koontz and husband, Gary, Emily Jane Johle, Madelyn Johle, and Jackson Guerry; great-grandchildren Khloe Koontz, Emilee Grace Koontz, and Kannon Bowles; seven nieces; one nephew; and numerous other relatives and close friends (thank you Fifi and Buttons).
