James Russell Mink, 86 years of age, of Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
James was born on March 29th, 1928, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, son of the late Grover Cleveland and Dora Wilson Mink. He was a self-employed mason. He enjoyed playing corn-hole and playing cards. James was of the Baptist faith.
James was survived by two sons, Otis Mink and Glen (and Lisa) Mink; three daughters, Carol Jeanie Phelps, Elizabeth Bratten, and Trysh (and Marty) Pennycuff; sixteen grandchildren, Steve, Amanda, Johnny, Mary Ann, Norman, Armilda, Tony, Jo-Jo, Josh, Jared, Ashley, Brittney, Shelby, Kortney, Missy, and Rusty; nineteen great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Jake Bressler; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Mink, who departed this life on November 9th, 1976 and Dora Wilson Mink, who departed this life on August 24th, 1976; his wife of over 50 years, Alberdean "Dean" Woody Mink, who departed this life on April 18th, 1999; one son, Marion Mink; five brothers, Orville Wilson Mink, Clinton Ray Mink, Bartell Mink, William Mink, and Norman Mink; one sister, Beatrice Canada; and one grandson, Rusty Mink.
Graveside services were held on Monday, November 24th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Somerset City Cemetery with Bro. Bill Dawson officiating.
