L.C. Gill, 78, of Vidor died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Slagle, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. L.C. worked with the Vidor Transportation Department for 33 years and was the Transportation Director. He was a charter member of Pine Forest Masonic Lodge #1420 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter #914 in Vidor. He was a 2 time past master and a past secretary for the masonic lodge. L.C. was a charter member of the Texas and the Southeast Texas Pupil Transportation. He served his country in the US Marines and was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church. L.C. is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Gill, daughters Kathy Gill Mathews and her husband Pete of Beaumont, TX, Sheila Jennings and her husband H.L. of Vidor, TX, son Michael Eugene Gill and his wife Deena of Vidor, TX, sisters Ivy Jones, Audie Vee Marshall, and Allie Vee Welch of all Vidor, TX, brothers J.D. Gill of Call, TX, and Jim Gill of Crosby, TX, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Ethel Gill and granddaughter April Jennings.
There are no words to truly describe his love for family, friends and the adventures of the great outdoors.
