John Harlan Watson, 84, of Zephyrhills, Florida, died Saturday, September 8, 2012.

John H. Watson was born January 23, 1928 in Earlington, Kentucky, the son of Jefferson Watson and Ruth (Rushing) Watson.

Mr. Watson retired from Consumers Power in 1990 as a Electrical Serviceman. He was a member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM of Grand Ledge, Michigan and attended Zephyrhills Christian Church in Zephyrhills. John enjoyed golfing and seeing things grow in his garden. Friends and family could always count on him to help with handyman work.

He was survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther (VanWestrienen) Watson; sons, Philip (Cecylia) Watson of Niles, Michigan, Gary (Louise) Watson of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughter, Patricia (Bill) Amey of Claremore, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan Watson and siblings J.R. Watson, Joe Watson, Clint Watson, Clyde Watson, Cliff Watson, Arnold Watson and sister Catharine.
