Mary M. Hufnagel, 85, of Hanover, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Columbia Cottage in Hanover. She was the wife of Peter T. Hufnagel, who died October 28, 2011 to whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Born June 7, 1929 in New Chester, she was the daughter of the late Luther H. and Maggie N. (Shanebrook) Decker.

Mary attended the Pines School in New Chester. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Pamela Ostrowski and her husband Nicholas of Hanover, Michael Hufnagel and his wife Cindy of Hanover, and Sharon Shrader-Weatherby and her husband of Mark of Manchester, eight grandchildren, Erin James, Brandy Ringrose, Jeremiah Shrader, Brooke Baker, Zach Ostrowski, Jason Shrader, Ashley Hufnagel, Adrienne Benson, 15 great-grandchildren; Alexus, Nicole, Breonia, Noah, Josiah, Ian, Xavier, Emma, Owen, Maggie, Julian, Matthew, Andrew, Abby and Joey, five siblings, Jean Myers of Dover, Betty Kline and Elsie Kepner both of New Oxford, Shirley Kulynych of Thomasville and Charles “Bud” Decker of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a grandson; Jamie Shrader, great-grandson; Jamison Shrader, five siblings; Glenn Decker, Blanche Beamer, Ruth Hiekes, Florence Lawrence and Mildred Klunk.

A graveside burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown.
