Robert Lanier (Bob) Anglin, Sr., age 78, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

Bob was a native of Moultrie, Georgia and lived in Glynn County for 55 years before moving to Wayne County 8 years ago. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1954 and served in the US Air Force where he was stationed in Germany. After his enlistment, he worked at Brunswick Pulp and Paper (Georgia Pacific) as a foreman for 34 years prior to retirement. Bob was a member of the Georgia Pacific Retirees Club and was an avid fisherman who loved fishing with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and with his dogs, Sara and Little Bit.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Robbie) Lanier Anglin, Jr., his parents, George and Clara Anglin, and two sisters, Peggy Anglin Parks and Carolyn Anglin Herrin.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary E. Anglin of Jesup; two daughters, Clara Anglin Fried (Mark) of Brunswick and Sandy Anglin Brandies (Scott) of Jesup; two granddaughters, Megan Fried McRae (Rob) of Bainbridge, GA and Ashley Lauren Brandies of Jesup; a grandson, Jason Brandies (Brooke) of Navarre, FL; a great-granddaughter, Ayla Brandies of Navarre, FL; sisters, Mildred Anglin Harris (B.P.) of St. Simons Island and Linda Anglin Smith of Hazlehurst, GA; a cousin (who is more like a brother), Bill Anglin (Janice) of Newnan, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Alice Chancey officiating. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Parks, Jr., Dan Herrin, Matt Anglin, Mark Anglin, Andy Riggs and Joey Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Prescott, Willie Owens, Tim Rozier, Jerry Harper, Darrell Brunson, David Edwards, Rick Smith, Alton Bowen, Jerry Rozier, Peggy and George McManus, Dr. Scott Clay, Wendell Harper, John Evors, Willie Evors, former employees of Georgia Pacific Number 4 and 5 machine, members of Georgia Pacific Retiree's Club, Lapeka Johnson and Keshia Larry.
