NETTLETON – Truett Berlin Adams, 91, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at his home after several months illness. He was born July 26, 1916, in Alabama to the late Clodie H. and Gertrude Evans Adams. He married Thelma Louise Owings in 1939; she died in 2007. He lived in Albany, Texas, Mobile, Ala., and Fort Meyers, Fla., and in the Nettleton area for 65 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for more than 60 years and a Sunday School teacher. He was an avid reader, loved his family and friends, and spent as much time as possible with his great-grandchildren. He worked until he was 85 and drove until he was 90.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Dennis Smithey and Bro. Ray Burks officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.

Survivorsinclude one daughter, Linda Susan Williams and Charlie of Amory; one granddaughter, Jamie Adams Seale and Jeffrey Scott Seale of Tupelo; two great-grandchildren, Sidney Grace Seale and Ruth Ann Seale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Truett Adams; one great-grandson, William Adams Seale; one brother, Curtis Adams; and two sisters, Mary Cauble and Oda Lou Posey.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Central Grove Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cary Brown, Wayne Smith, Ross Cauble, Alan Burks, Phil Burks, Greg Presley, Rev. Ray Burks and Brandon Presley.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Friday.
