Donna Cue Abbott, 85, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014. A graveside memorial service will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Donna was a native Wacoan, graduating from Waco High School in 1946. She worked for the Waco Tribune-Herald from 1948 to 1957, and then was a secretary at General Time for several years. Donna returned to the Tribune-Herald and worked there until her retirement in 1991. Donna had many friends and always enjoyed visiting with them and her family. She especially loved and cherished her life-long friends, Edward and Dollie Staas, Bill and Jadean Swenson, and Virginia Steinke, as well as numerous cousins.

Donna loved her kitty cats and never turned a stray kitty away. She was given the nickname "meow meow" by her grandson, Travis. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a life-long Baylor Bear fan. She always had her 'Lucky Bear' by her side when she watched the Bears on television. Donna was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cue Lowery and Ernest Lyle Alexander; and her two brothers, Bob Alexander and D.J. Alexander.

She is survived by her son, Jason Abbott and wife, Kimberly, of Hillsboro; two grandsons, Travis and Ayden Abbott; and sisters-in-law, Verna Mae Granger and Norma Loree Alexander.
