Private 2763 Frederick Davison, 2nd/5th Bn., Yorkshire Regiment

Died of pneumonia 30th March 1915, age 18.
Son of Mrs. Sarah Davison, of North Cowton.
According to the website for the Yorkshire Regiment, he died “at home”. His death was registered at Darlington, which covered parts of North Yorkshire but not North Cowton (Richmond) or East & South Cowton (Northallerton).

Private Frederick Davison's headstone also commemorates his brother, Private William Davison, who was buried at sea after fighting at Gallipoli with the 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment - commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.
