M/SGT Robert Kelly Nobles, Jr. USAF/Retired, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Cordelia Manor Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 21st in the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM in the church. lee Cater will officiate. Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery in the family plot with Military Rites.
Mr. Nobles was born on January 18, 1931 in Cordele, Ga. He was son of the late Robert K. Nobles and Veleria Fulghum Nobles. He was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher with the Pulaski County Board of Education. He was a member of the First Families of Georgia, Sons of American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Central Georgia Genealogical Society, Huxford Genealogical Society and Laurens County Historical Society. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during World War II, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era.
Survivors include: sisters-Elizabeth N.(the late Emery Mathews) of Pitts, Patricia N. (Mac) Howell of Pitts and several nieces and nephews.
Prelude and postlude will be played by Patricia Bennett. Billy Harris will sing “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and Denise Jones will sing “Amazing Grace”.
Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
