Rebecca D. Stroud, 83 a Buckhorn resident passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Rebecca was born June 18, 1931 in Jackson Hole Wyoming to Sam and Ida Anna Margaretha (Locher) Smith. She met and fell in with cowboy Ted C. Stroud. She married her true love December 1, 1954. She loved her family and friends very much. She enjoyed spending time with everyone, especially in the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and riding side by side with Ted looking for elk horns. She loved to go out to eat at Alma Grill. She was the youngest and the only one of her siblings surviving.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Ted C. Stroud, her daughters Dorothy Talkington and husband Richard and Jean Gregory and husband Gary, grandson Curtis Whitfield wife Holly, granddaughters Cody Whitfield, great-granddaughters Isabella and Anika Marin and Jasmine and Hazel Whitfield and 13 nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Max Everett Jr, daughter Diane Stroud, sisters Augusta Gerres, Peggy Fuez and Betty Dustin, brothers Norman E. Smith and Bentley Smith.
