MOUNT SOLON – On Nov. 18, 2014, Freda (Withrow) Taylor, wife, mother, and grandmother, was received into her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior eternally.

Born June 18, 1927 in Goshen, Va., she was a daughter of Charles and Opal (McClung) Withrow.

She previously worked as a secretary for Smith's Transfer, and then was a substitute teacher at North River Elementary School for 35 years. She was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Melvin; two daughters, Doris Jean Taylor Bishop and husband, Vern, of Harrisonburg and Martha Rexrode and husband, Doug, of Staunton; a loving granddaughter, Victoria Rexrode; three sisters, including Susan Sams of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, in Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Charles McFarlin. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, in Bear Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North River Elem. School, 3395 Scenic Hwy., Mt. Solon, VA.
