Obituary of Mrs. Janice Evans Hart
(February 16, 1958 ~ November 15, 2014)

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, Janice took the final step in her journery here on earth surrounded by her family and loved ones. She placed her hand in God’s and took her first step toward her eternal life.

Janice was born to Genevieve Tiblier Evans and Sidney Harrison Evans on February 16, 1958 in Pensacola, Florida where her father was stationed serving in the U.S. Navy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and Sidney Evans; her grandparents, Winslow and Jane Tiblier and James and Lula Evans; and a grandson, Sidney Harrison Hart.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 38 years, Stephen Louis Hart of Burlington, NC; children, Stephen Louis Hart II of Burlington, NC, Cydney (Michael) Webb of Vancleave, MS; Lauren (Justin) May of Columbus, MS and Cody (Brenda) Hart of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren, Layla and Shelby Hart of Biloxi, MS and Stevie Hart of Burlington, NC, Lucas and Charlee May of Columbus, MS, Braylin Webb of Vancleave, MS and David Hightower of Salem, OR.

Left cherishing their memories of her are her siblings, John (Rhonda) Evans, Pam (Daniel) Fogg, Kim (Tracy) Necaise and Sheila Evans as well as a whole host of nieces and nephews.

When Janice married Stephen, she extended her family and leaves them behind to cherish her memory as well. She will be greatly missed by her mother-in-law, Norma Jean Hart; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Danny and Carolyn Hart, Diane and Mike Powell, Virginia and Danny Mullen, David Hart, Wanda and Ricky Mullen, Lucile Plaisance, and Michael Hart.

Janice graduated from d’Iberville High School in 1976 where she served in the Color Guard. While in school, she played softball with the d’Iberville Softball League and later coached for the 13-16 year old division. She was also a participant and a maid of the Southernettes Mardi Gras Krewe. Janice was very involved with her children’s activities. She helped with Scouts. When her daughters began dance, she helped in every way she could at Nancy’s School of Dance. She attended ball games, track and cross-country events to support her children. Janice was employed with Blossman Gas Company and Ball Heating and Air.
Before moving to Burlington, NC, Janice attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket, MS.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Hart II, Cody Hart, Mike Webb, Justin May, Anthony Garcia and Tracy Necaise.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.

Visitation will be at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on November 20, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with services on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, Mississippi.
