Ms. Janet Lavette Tucker, 48, of Bay Minette, transitioned suddenly from earth into eternity on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at North Baldwin Infirmary.

She was a native of Bay Minette and a graduate of Baldwin County High School and Faulkner State Community College, with a degree in Childhood Education. After college, she relocated to Green Bay, WI., where she resided for 20 years before returning to Bay Minette.While in Green Bay she worked as a director of a preschool daycare center.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Bay Minette, where she served as youth director, Sunday School teacher, president of the Pastor’s Aid, and a member of the choir. She loved reading and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Tucker-Patt, and her father, Herman Tucker.

Those left to cherish her memories are one sister, Jacquelyn L. Tucker of Bay Minette; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m., at New Hope Baptist Church in Bay Minette with the Rev. Jimmy Bennett, pastor, officiating. Inhumation will be in the Mutual Aid Cemetery in Bay Minette with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
