She was born March 1, 1937 in Burley, Idaho to Grant Dilmon Randall and Anita Gierisch Randall. She was raised and attended schools in Burley. She attended Ricks College for 2 years, then Utah State University for an additional 2 years, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree. She also attended ISU, BSU, U of I and BYU. On July 22, 1959 she married Von Reed Jenkins in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple; they were blessed with 6 children. Patsy was a school teacher and taught from 1st to 8th grade for over 30 years. Over her life time she lived in Burley, Rexburg, Logan, West Palm Beach, Florida, Troutdale, Oregon, Rigby and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Patsy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She, along with her husband served a fulltime mission in Nauvoo, Illinois; she also served as a primary teacher, relief society teacher, stake Sunday school secretary, humanitarian leader, stake librarian, visiting teaching supervisor, and young women’s president. She loved to teach, and ¬¬ raise her family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting going on trips, participating in book clubs, and gardening. She was also a member of Spinners and Weavers Guild.
She is survived by her daughters, Holly Noreen (Shaun) Sedrick, of Springdale, Arkansas, Verena Lee (Bryce) Poole of Hillsborough, Oregon, sons, Daniel Alan (Maureen) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, Ivan David (Annette) Jenkins of Rigby, Benjamin Reed (Karen) Jenkins, of Rigby, daughter-in-law, Tiffiny Jenkins, of Rigby, sisters, Joyce Marie Randall (Ramon) McBride, of Burley, brothers, Richard Grant Randall, of Burley, Steven Grant (Julie) Randall, of Burley, and 24 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Nikolas Dean Jenkins, sister, Eleanor (Mac) Reynolds, sister-in-law, Roseanne Randall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the LDS Chapel located at 6925 N. 15th E., Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
