Tom was born February 24, 1931 in Fayetteville, NY, a son of the late Ambrose and Leila Husted Leach.
Tom was a farmer most of his life and had also worked at Labrador Ski Center. He retired in 1993 from the Town of Homer Highway Dept.
Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Anna Buckley Leach, two sons, Gary (Carole) Leach of East Homer and Thomas (Marilee) Leach of Lake Como; a daughter, Nancy (John) Duff of Truxton; two brothers, David Leach of Asheville, NC and Carl Leach of Homer and a sister, Doris Hennsley of Asheville, NC. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several step grand and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close friends, all of whom he loved dearly and were an important part of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dorcas Russell, two brothers, Gordon and Samuel Leach, a great grandson, Anthony Leach; two brothers-in-law, Lewis “Pete” Russell and James Hennsley and a sister-in-law, Lola Leach.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer. Interment in East Homer Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
