John W. Jones died at 12:50pm Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, IL, USA.

Mr. Jones was born Sept. 27, 1913, at Bogart, MO., a son of Oscar C. and Maude Griffith Jones. He married Louella M. Wilson on May 7, 1938 in Gibson City, IL. They raised three daughters and resided at 805 E. Chestnut St, Bloomington, IL. Judy (George) Evans, Susan Close, and Jane (Jerry) Bacon (formerly Evans). He had seven grandchildren (Kimberly Evans (Hinojosa), Cody Evans, Jennifer Evans, Emily Evans, Kathryn Close, John Evans, Rachel Evans, and one great-granddaughter (Camryn Hinojosa) at the time of his death.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Jones served in the Army during World War II.

He was a letter carrier for the Bloomington Post Office for 18 years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He passionately shared his love of nature and native trees, birds, and flowers. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed.
