HINES, Joseph "Alan", age 91, a treasured family man and resident of Troy, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 9, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Leona (nee: Jackson) Hines. Loving father of James (Lynne) Hines, Karen (Keith) Tiedeman, Jerry (Kathleen Fitzgerald) Glidewell and Phyllis (Norm) Dollar. Dearest grandfather of 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Dear brother of Barbara Wilhite and the late Junior Hines.
Alan was born in Carter County, Missouri to the late James and the late Janie Hines and moved to Michigan in 1956. He was a welder and long-time employee at Milco Manufacturing in Warren, and member of Evanswood Church of God in Troy. With a straw hat atop his head, Alan - known affectionately as "Granddaddy" by his grandkids - will be remembered for tractor rides on his lap, and his fondness for midday naps.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 5pm with gathering of family and friends at 4pm at Evanswood Church of God, 2601 Square Lake Road in Troy. A light dinner will follow the service. Arrangements by Price Funeral Home, Troy (248) 689-0700 and Inurnment White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.
