The man who was life-flighted following a Saturday afternoon crash in Adams County has died.
56-year-old Steven Anthony of Fairfield died this afternoon as a result of his injuries, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
Anthony was life-flighted to Lincoln after his car collided with another at the intersection of Showboat Road and Prairie Lake Road on Saturday. The driver of the other vehicle, 19-year-old Jared Jackson of Hastings, and two juvenile passengers were not injured.
Authorities say winter weather may have been a factor in the crash.

Fairfield resident, Steven A. “Steve” Anthony, 56, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at Bryan Medical Center West, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Friday, November 21, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Fred Berry officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2014; 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date c/o Christina Davison, 1225 N. Elm Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901. Steve was an organ donor in order to help others and his wishes were to be cremated.

Steve was born to Merle and Berdella (Farley) Anthony on February 19, 1958 in Carroll, Iowa. He worked at Fairfield Coop. Steve was involved with the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department and was a former fire chief. He was a junior firefighter in York, Nebraska. Steve loved spending time with friends, family and his German Shepherd, IROC.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Arlene.
