Macon, GA- Wornie Cecil Coleman, Sr., age 81, joined his Heavenly Father on Sunday while he was surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Coleman was born in Wilcox County to the late Bonnie Lucille Coleman and Charles Wesley Coleman. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Coleman was a faithful member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Nellie Ruth Coleman, who passed away in June. He is also preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Florence Barfield, Charles Ruben Coleman, and Nancy Ruth Coleman.
He is survived by his children, Phyllis Doolittle (Ronald) of Byron, Wornie Cecil Coleman, Jr. of Macon, and Tammy Dees of Byron; grandchildren, Wornie Cecil "Trey" Coleman III, Jason Thomas, Tiffany Holley (Kris), Lisa Dees, Matthew Dees; great grandson, Zachary Holley; sisters and brother, Jeanette Rutledge, Leola Ramsey, and Clinton Coleman; brother-in-law, L.C. Myrick, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday in the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Lauritsen will officiate. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Crest Lawn.
