Charles Bernard Woodward, 84, of Conway, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2002) at his home.

Mr. Woodward was born in Centerville on Jan. 20, 1918, a son of the late Rufus Woodward and Viola Woolly Woodward. Mr. Woodward was an independent truck driver. He spent much of his time working on tractors, lawn mowers and cars. Mr. Woodward was a member of Liberty Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ray Joslin Woodward, and a stepson, Ned Joslin.

Survivors are two sons, Charles W. Woodward and wife, Jo-Ed, of Wooster, and Bobby and wife, Debbie, of Mayflower; a daughter, Janie Annette Woodward of Wooster; a stepson, Ted Joslin of Cabot; a sister, Edith Cavin of Downey, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two beloved cousins, Lisa Woodward Gwin of Conway and Dr. Jerrell Holt of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice.

A gathering of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Crestlawn Cemetery on Highway 64 with Jerry Almond officiating.

Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Griffin Leggett-Conway.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Tommy White, Joe White, Hal Hunnicutt, Hugh Hardin, Richard Gwin and Judge John Carter. Honorary pallbearer will be Judge Jack Roberts.
