Bruce E. Bryant, 55, of Holton passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born May 26, 1958 in Ottawa, KS the son of Paul and LaVeta (Gibbens) Bryant. He graduated from Holton High School in 1976. He worked with Haug Construction as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years. In 1980, Bruce married Tracy Curran. The couple later divorced. Bruce is survived by: his mother, LaVeta Bengtson of Holton, KS; his daughters, Jessica Bryant of Silver Lake, KS and Stephanie Bryant of Topeka, KS; his sons, Chris Bryant of Fort Benning, GA and Nicholas and Paul Bryant both of Holton, KS; his fiancé, Lynne Purvis of Holton, KS; his sisters, Judy Childers, Pam Bryant and Deb Helus (Kevin) all of Holton, KS and Paula Lira of Paxico, KS; his brother Cecil Goodrick (Karen) of Knoxville, TN; his 7 grandchildren, Colton, Cayden, Carson, Paige, Emilynn, Warren and Tory; and his loyal dog Sammie. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Bryant, his step father, Marvin Bengtson and his sister, Trudy Bryant.
Bruce was cremated and there will a Memorial Visitation Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Heart of Jackson Humane Society and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
