Services for Alice I. Floto, 87, of Canby, who died Tuesday, August 29, 1995, at her home were held Saturday, September 2, at the First Presbyterian Church in Canby. Reverend Daniel Billings officiated.
Robert Hanson sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee." The congregation sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Norma DeWit was organist. Casketbearers were Steven and John Killoran, Marcia McGee, Mary Floto Thompson, Lisa and Michael Cronberg and Nancy Tetteh. Interment was in the Canby City Cemetery.
Alice Floto was born November 24, 1907, at Canby to Cecil L. and Ida B. (Bolden) Granger. She was baptized and confirmed at the First United Presbyterian Church in Canby and was a graduate of Canby High School. After high school she worked as a telephone operator. She and Harry E. Floto were married June 20, 1927, at Granite Falls.
Floto was a lifelong resident of the Canby community, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her children: Luann (Thomas) Killoran of Watertown, S.D.; William (Barbara) Floto of Canby; Ruth (Alvin) Cronberg of Broomfield, Co.; and sister Betty Granger of Roseville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Steven and John Killoran, Nancy Tetteh, Marcia MeGee, Mary Floto Thompson and Lisa and Michael Cronberg; nine great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Steven Knecht; Jacob, Megan, Kate, Luke and Molly Killoran; and Lincoln and Alice Thompson; and a special friend, Dorothy Koenig.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, and her brother, Lincoln Granger.
