Casket bearers were Harold "Bud" Fliss, Doug Frazeur, Paul Frazeur, Harlan Berndt, David Hohenstein and Delphin Hohenstein. Interment was in the Canby Cemetery.
Eleanora Sophia Wilke was born September 5, 1904, in Wheaton to Hermann T. and Lillie (Schwartz) Wilke. The family later moved to Milnor, N.D.
On December 22, 1923, Eleanora was married to Albert M. Berndt in Canby, where they spent their married life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years land served as a Deacon from 1966 to 1968. She was also a member of the extension club and the Rebekah Lodge.
Albert died in 1973, and Eleanora later entered the Senior Haven Nursing Home.
Berndt is survived by her children: Ellen Frazeur and her husband, Dean, Midlothian, Va.; and Roger Berndt and his wife Carolyn of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her grandchildren: Mary Ellen Frazeur of East Haven, Conn.; Rev. Dean R. Frazeur and his wife, Susan of Richmond, Va.; Bruce Frazeur of Iowa City, Iowa; and Tracey E. Melot of Brownwood, Texas; her great-grandchildren: Erika and Brandon Melot; and her step-grandchildren: Jason Smith and Terrie Lynn Berndt of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her sisters: Edith Bartz, Gwinner, N. D.; and Emma Hohenstein of Vernon Center; her brother, Harry Wilke of Forman, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson, five sisters and three brothers.
