Services were held Monday at St. George Catholic Church in Linn for Generose C. Sullentrop, 81, of Jefferson City, who was the first woman elected to Countywide office in Osage Co. The Rev. Brendan Doyle conducted the funeral for Mrs. Sullentrop, who died Friday at a Jefferson City nursing home. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Sullentrop was born Nov 22, 1909 in Linn to Ferdinand and Anna Iven Boehm. She was married Aug 25, 1931 to Harry K. Mahon, who died Mar 14, 1948. She was then married on Nov 8, 1951 to Joseph Sullentrop, who died Jan 13, 1968. A resident of Linn for most of her life, Mrs. Sullentrop was county treasurer from 1948 to 1954. She was appointed to fill the unexpired term of her husband, Mr. Mahan, as county treasurer after he was killed in a hunting accident. She then was elected to a four-year term in that office on the Republican ticket.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne J. Mahon and Arlan W. Mahon, both of Jefferson City, and James H. Mahon of New Providence, NJ; a step-son, J. F. Sullentrop of St. Louis; a step-daughter, Margaret Ann Gould of Spring City, TN; a sister, Wilhelmina Myers of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
