MARJORIE EDITH KRAMER BRYANT
July 30, 1915 ~ October 16, 2014

Marjorie was born in Ariel, Washington, to Bessie (Wheatley) and Andrew Kramer. She was the seventh of eleven children. With determination and hard work, Marjorie lived a full life. Educated in Ariel, Woodland, and Vancouver, WA, Marjorie left school at the age of fifteen to help her mother support their large family.

In 1943, Marjorie enlisted in the U.S. Army, Women's Army Corps, and proudly served our country stateside during WWII.

In 1946, she married Bruce Bryant of Woodland, Washington and they had a son, David. She raised David as a single mother, providing him with a loving home and supporting his career as an international professional flutist and dancer. They shared a love of art, which he collected while touring in Europe. Marjorie was proud to buy her own lovely home where she and David lived. She was a talented gardener, excellent cook, and avid reader, as well as an enthusiastic audience for David's many performances and recitals.

She spent most of her life living and working in the Vancouver area close to family, raising her son, and enjoying good times in backyard potluck picnics and marathon pinochle games. She had travel adventures in New Zealand and Australia with Sue and Ginger, and she cruised to Alaska and took sightseeing bus tours to several Western states with Sue.

She was independent, self-reliant, and dedicated to her family. Marjorie was a loving and kind woman who is missed by family and friends.

We thank her special caregivers and the Ray Hickey Hospice House.

Marjorie is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, whose companionship allowed her to live a long life in the home she loved.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father; her sisters, Mary, Laura, Virginia, Florence, and Mildred "Sue"; her brothers, Lawrence, Louis, Elmer "Ginger", John, and Donald; and her son, David, who passed away in Vienna, Austria, in 1988 with Marjorie by his side.

Marjorie was buried with David in the Kramer burial plot at the Woodland I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Woodland, Washington. A celebration of her life took place at a later date.
