George Pretyman, Bishop of Winchester, and Elizabeth Maltby were married on September 3, 1784.
5th Baronet of Tomline, English Anglican Bishop. He served as the private secretary to the British Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger (1783 until 1787), Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, London (1787 until 1820), Bishop of Lincoln (1787 until 1820), and Bishop of Winchester (1820 until his death)m succeeding Brownlow North. He attended Pembroke College in Cambridge, England graduating in 1772 and elected a fellow of Pembroke in 1773. He was ordained a deacon in 1774 and priest in 1776. He died of apoplexy at the age of 77 and was succeeded as Bishop of Winchester by Charles Sumner.
