WILLIAM L. WASHBURN NORWALK, March 26—William L. Washburn, 81, a native of Milan and resident here for the past 11 years, died Thursday at his home, 47 Townsend ave, following a long illness. Mr. Washburn was born Sept. 28, 1866. His boyhood and early youth were spent in Milan and Collins. He later resided in Lakewood for a number of years. He was married to Julia Phillips, April 29, 1896. For a number of years he pursued the trade of carpenter and later became a steward on Great Lake steamers, a calling he followed many years. Surviving are his widow, a son, Ralph, Concord, CA; two daughters, Mrs. George Henderson, Canfield, OH, and Mrs. R. F. McCrillis, Norwalk; one sister, Mrs. Mayme McLaughlin, Oakland, CA, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Laible Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday, the Rev. Stanley C. Stall, officiating. Burial will be in Berlin Heights Cemetery.
