Joyce Gaines (nee Castellow), age 62, of Florence, KY passed away on March 21,2011.

Survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis; loving mother of Carole (Greg) Williamson, Brad (JJ) Gaines; sister of Robert Castellow. Also survived by two grandchildren, Laura Gaines and Christopher Williamson; her mother, Margie Castellow; and a host of friends and relatives.

Preceded in death by her father, Earl Castellow. A special thank you to Dr. Jack Basil and to the loving, caring and compassionate nurses at the Cancer Care Center of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood and a very special thank you to the nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care for their loving ministry to Joyce and family.

Before retirement, Joyce was a church secretary. She considered her job a ministry rather than an occupation. During her journey through ovarian cancer, she never faltered in her Christian witness or faith and was an inspiration to all.

The visitation in Kentucky will be Wednesday 5-7pm followed by the service at Linnemann Funeral Home ,Burlington, 1940 Burlington Pike , Burlington , KY. In Columbus, Georgia visitation will be Friday March 25th, 12noon - 1 pm at the Striffler - Hamby Funeral Home, Macon Road, followed by the funeral service in their chapel. Interment will be at the Memory Mausoleum, Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA.
