Joseph Fibikar died Thursday, January 2, 1992 at the Dows Care Center where he had resided since September 7, 1990.
He was born in Boone on December 6, 1905 to Joseph and Mary Holly Fibikar. He grew to manhood and received his education in Boone. On January 27, 1943 he married Mary Russell in Missouri. After their marriage, they farmed south of Dows and for the past 48 years have lived in Dows and Bella Vista, Arkansas. In 1966 Joe and Mary retired and moved into Dows. Mary died on June 24, 1991.
He is survived by three sons: Richard of Galt, Raymond of Clarion and Robert of Hawaii; two daughters: Arlene Redwonski of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mary Brauman of Cedar Rapids; two step-sons: Bernard Russell of Dows and Larry Russell of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; two step-daughters: Elizabeth Smith of Humboldt and Norma Hill of Dows. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and three sisters: Katherine Headley, Marie Schaffer and Tillie Fitch, all of Boone.
His parents, wife, one sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
