Mrs. Wright Services Held Tuesday
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Woods Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Annah Rebecca Wright, 89, who died Saturday morning, Sept. 27, in the Del Norte Hospital. She had been ill for several months.
Rev. Earl R. Saladen, minister of the First Christian Church of Monte Vista, officiated at the services. Mrs. Byron Myers, organist, accompanied Harold Roberts, soloist, as he sang "No Night There" and "Sometime We'll Understand."
Mrs. Wright was born in Ursa, Ill., on March 22, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ralph. After the death of her sister, she was married to her sister's husband, Arthur D. Wright, and mothered their six children. In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Wright moved from Illinois to the San Luis Valley where Mrs. Wright has made her home for about 48 years. For a time, Mrs. Wright was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
Survivng are two stepsons, W. Wallace Wright and Warren L. Wright, both of Creede; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lois Kerth of Center, Mrs. Leah Dobbs of Nucla, Colo., and Mrs. Jessie McClellan of Monte Vista; a stepdaughter-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Wright of Creede as well as nieces and nephews and other relatives in Illinois, Her husband, Arthur D. Wright, and a stepson, Raymond, preceded her in death.
Burial was in Memory Gardens of the San Luis Valley. Pallbearers were Sumner Long, Barnett Bauer, Carl Bauer, Curtis Kerth, Curtis Nelson, and Wayne Johnson. Honorary bearers were Fred Wright, Richard Wright, Ernest Schwarzbeck and F. R. Martin.
