Mrs. T. Stanley Newman passed away at her home near Crabbottom, December 7, 1929. She was born, reared and lived until her death in this community. Her age was 49 years and three days, having been born December 4, 1880. She had been in declining health for some years but bore her suffering with christian fortitude. She was converted in early life and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South a faithful christian. Truly a good woman has gone. She is survived by her husband, T. S. Newman, parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Chew, sisters, Mrs. Orion Harper and Mrs. Ed Gum of W. Va., Mrs. C. T Hardman of Florida and Mrs. W. L. Arbogast of Crabbottom; brothers, P. S. Chew of Harrisonburg, Jno. W. Chew of W. Va., Charles Chew of Covington and Frank Chew of Pennsylvania. Her funeral services which were largely attended were held at New Church by her pastor, Rev. F. M. Lucas and her body laid to rest in Crabbottom cemetery.
