Vivian Sue Yoder, 76, residing in South Bend, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 in her home.

She was born March 9,1938 in South Bend, a daughter of Silas & Elizabeth (Whiteman) Ritenour, and remained a lifelong resident.

On December 15, 1957 at Second Church of the Brethren in South Bend, Sue was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles E. Yoder. Together, they have enjoyed fifty-seven years of marriage.

She retired as Office manager for Yoder's Garage. She and Charles were members of Calvary Baptist Church, and have been attending Gospel Center Missionary Church. She attended South Bend Conservatory of Music, and has spent many years directing choirs, playing the piano, and singing solos. She and Charles also served as Sunday School teachers. They enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and spending their winters in Sebring, FL. She also was an avid reader, and enjoyed sewing.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Amanda & Henry Steele of South Bend; and her two sons and their wives, David & Kathy Yoder of South Bend; and Doug & Susan Yoder of Monument, CO. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Aaron Yoder (Maegan), Brad (Kristen) Yoder, Connor (Edsys) Yoder, Chelsea (Justin) Mohler, Clayton (Samantha) Steele, Christine Steele and Levi Yoder, along with five great-grandchildren, Dartanyin Yoder, Claire Yoder, Adam Yoder, Alister Mohler, and Arlen Mohler. Sue is also survived by her sister, Wanda (Phil) Snavely of South Bend; and her brother, Lamar (Donna) Ritenour of Sebring, FL. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Yvonne Klotz and Carolyn Bartlett.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17,
at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Services celebrating the life of Sue Yoder will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, at the funeral home with Dr. Robert Morris officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.
