Dorothy H. Blankenbuehler, 92, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospice. Born April 16, 1922, in Crookston, Minn., she was the daughter of Hans Aune and Clara Wentzel Aune. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and pre-school teacher. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, LWML, Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus, and Concordia Haven Choirs. She enjoyed volunteer work, card making and Bible studies. Surviving are three daughters, Connie (Demetrios) Mavroudis, of Richmond, Va., June (Fred) Bodnar, of Allison Park, and Marla Michaels, of Portland, Maine; her brother, Arley (Carol) Aune, of Grand Forks, Minn.; three grandchildren, Susan (Tony) Folkmann, Peter Bodnar and Christopher Michaels, and three great-grandchildren, Emma and WIlliam Folkmann and Eva Michaels. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Lorenz Blankenbuehler, July 18, 2003; her son, the Rev. John Blankenbuehler; and son-in-law, John Michaels. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at the FOX FUNERAL HOME INC., Saxonburg, PA. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.
