The following obituary for Leon was published in the Trenton Evening Times on January 13, 1984.


TRENTON -- Leon Twining Abbott, 65, died Monday at his home.

Born in Newark, Mr. Abbott was a lifelong resident of the Trenton area.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Homing Pigeon Society.

Son of the late Leon E. and Rose W. Palmer Abbott, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas P. and Dorothy Abbott of Northridge, Calif.; two nieces, Dorothy Abbott of Northridge, and Barbara Lee Stoy stationed with the Army in Fort Story, Va.; a nephew, Thomas P. Abbott, Jr., of Northridge; and several grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday from the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Avenue. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 P.M. at the memorial home.
