Mrs. Eva Hewitt Dies; Last Rites Thursday
Mrs. Eva Mae Hewitt, of 924 Tenth street, Marion, widow of Tyler D. Hewitt, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after a long illness.
Born Dec.5, 1860, on a farm near Marion, the daughter of Leonard and Melvina Chase Stowe, she had spent her entire life in this community. Mr. Hewitt died in 1909. She was a member of the Marion Methodist church. A son, Leonard G. Hewitt of Marion, survives.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Yocom chapel. The Rev. James P. Gable will officiate and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Wednesday.
