1st Wife: Johanna Geertruid Heebink (married 31 Aug 1843 • Aalten, Gelderland, Netherlands)
Wife Johanna and their 2 sons, Herman & Derk Gerhard (born 1844 and 1846 respectively) immigrated with Christopher in early 1847 to America, but it is unknown what happened to the 3 of them. It would appear that Johanna died either during the journey or shortly thereafter as Christopher's 2nd wife, Maria Geetruid nee Rensink, was married to him in St. Louis, Missouri on 08 Jun 1847. (She obviously died before his 3rd marriage to Dora.)
