Mrs. Ethel Hanson Lifelong Marion Resident Dies
Mrs. Ethel May Hanson, 47, Fifth ave at 31st street, passed away at 6:43 p.m. Saturday at a Cedar Rapids Nursing home following a long illness.
Born June 11, 1904, at Marion, the daughter of Everett and Sadie Van Norman Rose and had lived her entire life in Marion. She was married at Rock Island in 1931 to Ole Hanson and he died at Marion on January 2, 1948.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by a son, James Rose of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Scott of Marion with whom she made her home, and two brothers, George Rose of Clinton, and Ralph Rose of Hermiston, Ore. A brother, Russell Rose died March 4, 1948.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Yocom-Murdoch Funeral Home by Elder H.B. Davis of Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
