Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mr. Jack Morris, age 83 of 127 Collins Street, died Friday, May 20, 2005 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was a native of Toombs County, living his lifetime in the area, was a life-long independent businessman and semi-retired from Morris Finance Company was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a former Lyons City Councilman for four years.

He was a charter member of the Lyons Masonic Lodge #49 and the Toombs County Order of the Eastern Star #543, American Legion Post #97, Vidalia VFW and the First United Methodist Church of Lyons.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Morris and a brother, Robert Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Oralene James Morris of Lyons; one daughter, Sharon Morris of Baxley; two brothers, Howard Morris of Vidalia and Rever Morris of Alma and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Mr. Jack Morris will be held Sunday, May 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Lyons with Reverend James Aycock and Dr. Max Hill officiating.

Interment will follow in Lyons City Cemetery.
