Second generation Publisher and Editor of Courier-Journal and the Louisville Times. During his leadership, both papers received six Pulitzer Prizes and numerous other national awards, including rankings in the top 10 newspapers of America. He was the stepson of Mary Lily Flagler Bingham when she married his father nine months prior to her death. He was given the rank of Commandeur, Legion d'Honneur, by French government for service, and was a Fulbright lecturer at Oxford University in 1955. He died at age 82.
